Teaching HS English at our school strives to provide quality arts integration including learning “through” and “with” the arts, arts integration as a curricular connections process, and arts integration as collaborative engagement. There is a multitude of connections between English I-IV and forms of art. For example, movement and dance are forms of communication which come naturally to children. Students create original art work from observations recorded in personal journals, design storyboards and computer animations derived from readings or their own imagination, design commercials in cooperation with the Marketing and Art department, or analyze or write/record songs in collaboration with the music department.
